A compatible safety valve for regular pressure cookers, made by Real Gold, whose name is stamped on its six-sided metal head.
It is the second outlet on the lid, next to the whistle. If the vent gets blocked and the pressure climbs too high, the safety valve releases it. Replace it after it has blown, or when steam or water leaks around it. Never plug its hole or cook without it.
Check before you order: it must match the hole in your lid, so compare it with your old valve. If your safety valve has blown, have the vent tube checked for a blockage too.
