The pressure regulator (whistle) for Futura pressure cookers from 2 to 9 litre, in the Futura pack (code VWF). Hawkins lists the same regulator for the Futura hard anodised and the Futura Stainless Steel cookers.
It sits on the steam vent of the lid and keeps the cooker at its working pressure, letting steam out as it cooks. Hawkins' UK store notes its fingertip steam release. Replace it if it is lost, cracked or bent, or no longer sits firmly on the vent.
Check before you order: it fits Futura cookers only. Hawkins Classic, Contura and the other Hawkins cookers use a round vent weight instead. If the cooker does not come to pressure, turn off the heat, let it cool and check the steam vent before you replace anything.
