About this part
- Fits all Butterfly outer-lid cookers; not inner-lid ones
- Weight with black knob, plus its vent tube
- Comes in Butterfly's own box
Butterfly's whistle set (vent weight set) for Butterfly outer-lid pressure cookers. As printed on Butterfly's box, it suits all Butterfly outer-lid cookers: stainless steel, hard anodised, aluminium and induction-base models. It does not fit Butterfly inner-lid cookers or other brands.
The set in our photos is the weight, with its black knob, and the vent tube it sits on. When the cooker reaches pressure the weight lifts and lets steam out: that is the whistle. Replace the set when the whistle comes late or not at all, steam leaks around the tube, or the parts are bent or worn.
Butterfly's box advises cleaning the vent weight assembly regularly to avoid clogging. If a cooker keeps heating without whistling, turn off the flame, let it cool fully, and do not force the lid open.
Valves and whistles regulate pressure. A stuck or corroded one is the commonest reason a cooker either will not build pressure or vents at the wrong point.

Rather we fitted it?
This is a part we fit rather than sell as a do-it-yourself job. Book a pressure cooker visit and the technician arrives with it, tests the appliance, and closes the job only once you confirm the work.

Butterfly Weight Set — questions we get asked
How much is the Butterfly Weight Set?
₹175, and that is what you pay — the amount is restated before you confirm and nobody re-prices it after opening the appliance. Fitting, if you want it, is quoted separately and agreed first.
Will it fit my pressure cooker?
Gasket size follows the cooker litre capacity, not the brand alone. Check the number stamped on the base of your cooker before you order. WhatsApp a photo of the appliance and of the failed part, and we will confirm the match before you pay for anything.
Can I fit this valve myself?
We do not supply it that way. Valves and whistles regulate pressure. A stuck or corroded one is the commonest reason a cooker either will not build pressure or vents at the wrong point. A technician brings it, fits it, tests the appliance, and you sign the job off before it is billed.
How soon can I have it in Bangalore?
It is in stock in Bengaluru. Parts we hold locally usually reach a job the same day, and most repairs booked against them close within 12 hours across the city.
Can I get a GST invoice?
Yes. This part invoices under HSN 7323, and a GST invoice is raised for the order — which is what a technician or a dealer buying for a workshop needs.
