Bergner's whistle, which the pack calls the weight set, for the Argent Avinash tri-ply stainless steel inner lid cooker. The Bergner pack lists all four sizes: 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 5 litre.
It sits on the vent tube of the lid. When the cooker reaches its working pressure, the weight lifts and lets steam out: that is the whistle. Replace it when the whistle does not come or comes very late, steam escapes all the time, or the weight is damaged or lost.
Check before you order: it is a black knob on a steel base, as in the photo. Bergner's outer lid cookers take a different whistle, SPR-106. This one is SPR-134. If a cooker keeps heating without whistling, turn off the flame, let it cool fully, and do not force the lid open.
