Why this matters
Bengaluru is an unusually demanding city for water purifiers, and the reason is the split in supply. Households on Cauvery supply get relatively soft water and can run longer between services. Large parts of the east and north — Whitefield, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, Hebbal, Yelahanka — run substantially on borewell and tanker water, which carries a much higher dissolved-solids load. How often should an RO purifier be serviced?
Every six to twelve months on Cauvery supply. On borewell or tanker water — common across east and north Bengaluru — pre-filters often need attention closer to every three to six months, because the higher dissolved-solids load clogs them faster.
How do I know if the RO membrane needs replacing?
By comparing input and output TDS. If output TDS has crept up substantially against the reading at installation, the membrane is passing solids it should reject. We measure both on every visit and give you the numbers, rather than going by the reminder light.
My purifier runs constantly but the tank does not fill. What is wrong?
Usually a clogged pre-filter or fouled membrane restricting flow, a failing pump, or a tank bladder that has lost pressure. All three are diagnosable on site and the technician will show you which it is before quoting.
