The Philips bar assembly (blending rod) for the HL1681 hand blender. As in the photos, it has a stainless steel rod and blade guard with a metal blade inside, and a black rounded end at the top. Philips describes the HL1681's arm as rust-free SS304 stainless steel.
The blade spins inside the guard to blend soups, purees and shakes. Replace it when the blade is blunt or bent, the guard is dented, the shaft is stiff or wobbles, or liquid gets inside the rod.
